Tourist activities of a DC transplant

As a new denizen of the inner beltway, I have been partaking of the many activities this city has to offer.  The museums, parks and other interesting haunts are cultural salve for someone from the culture-free zone of South Georgia – unless you count Saturday night frat parties on Frat Row!

When I first arrived, everyday was a new adventure.  Armed with my pop-up map of DC, I would make my way through the maze of the Metro aimed at a new museum to visit that day.  Since being here, I have seen:

Jellyfish
These jellyfish were in constant motion flowing through the tank like angels.
Graceful
This guy was graceful in the water. Surprising seeing as how he was much larger than I expected.
American emblem
The majestic eagle perched high in the tree.
Komodo dragon
He crawled toward me for a better angle. It’s like he wanted me to take the photo!
Orangutang
This old fellow looked lonely. His eyes had a sadness that I was surprised to see. Having never seen one, this orangutang reminded me of an old hairy man!
Panda
I finally saw my first panda… coolness.
Elephant
He’s HUGE!
